Ganesh Utsav 2023 Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as Bappa’s birthday. The festival of Ganesh Utsav begins with Ganesh Chaturthi which ends with Ganesh Visarjan on Anant Chaturdashi.

This year Ganesh Chaturthi is starting from 19th September 2023 while it will end on 28th September 2023 on Anant Chaturdashi.

Ganesh ji is one of the main deities in Sanatan Dharma. Lord Ganesha is worshiped before any auspicious work. That is why he is also called the first revered god.

By worshiping Lord Ganesha,all the work of a person is completed without any hindrance. Every year in the month of Bhadrapada, from the Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha,

the installation of Lord Ganesha starts in every house with musical instruments. The 10-day long Ganesh Utsav is going to begin across the country on 19th September,

Many stories are found

There are many stories behind celebrating Ganesh Utsav. It is believed that Lord Ganesha was born on the Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada.

Therefore this day is known as Ganesh Chaturthi. On the other hand, the story behind celebrating Ganesh Utsav for 10 days is that when Ved-Vyas ji requested Lord Ganesha

to write the Mahabharata book, then Ganpati ji kept writing the Mahabharata without stopping for 10 days.  When Ved-Vyas ji saw, they found that Ganesh ji’s temperature was

very high and made him bathe in the river on the 10th day. Since then Ganesh Chaturthi is considered to be the beginning.

 

In how many days can immersion be done?

There is a tradition of celebrating Ganeshotsav for 10 days. The idol of Lord Ganesha is immersed on the day of Anant Chaturthi.

But if you want, you can bring Bappa home for one and a half days to three, five, seven or 10 days. The same auspicious results are obtained as one gets

by immersing Bappa on the day of Anant Chaturthi.
