“Leaked Images Reveal Biden Administration’s ID Card Plan for Undocumented Immigrants”

The Biden administration is planning to introduce a new ID card for undocumented immigrants in order to better keep track of the number of migrants being released into the United States.

This new ID card is part of a program called the ICE Secure Docket Card. It is designed to update and improve the various types of documents given to noncitizens who are released temporarily in the U.S. The goal is to create a consistent, verifiable, and secure card.

The card will have space for a photograph, a QR code (a kind of barcode that can be scanned with a smartphone), personal identification information, and security features. It will also display the logo of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the top left corner.

This ID card will help immigration authorities manage and track individuals who have entered the country illegally and are not immediately removed but instead released into different parts of the United States. It’s a way to make sure that the government can keep tabs on who is in the country and where they are.

The intention behind this initiative is to make the immigration process more organized and secure, while also ensuring that those who are released have a reliable form of identification

The planned ICE ID card for undocumented immigrants will include a photo, personal information, and advanced security features. It aims to replace the current paper forms, which often deteriorate quickly in real-life conditions. The program is still in development and may expand after a pilot phase.

This card could be used for check-ins and scheduling meetings with ICE. It’s meant to make it easier to verify someone’s identity and their eligibility for deportation in the field. However, some conservatives are worried about this program, as they see it as part of an agenda that welcomes illegal immigrants rather than removing them.

RJ Hauman, the president of the National Immigration Center for Enforcement (NICE), and a visiting adviser at the Heritage Foundation, expressed concerns. He believes ICE should focus on arresting, detaining, and deporting those who come to the country illegally, instead of providing social services.

Lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee share similar concerns from last year. They worry that this ID card may encourage illegal immigration by rewarding those who break the law. They also have concerns about QR codes on the card, which could link to court documents and other information. They fear this could raise security issues and divert taxpayer resources away from immigration enforcement to manage and secure this system.

ICE has responded to these concerns by clarifying that the ID card will not serve as an official federal identification. Instead, it will be used exclusively by DHS agencies.

The shift to this secure card is expected to save ICE a significant amount of money, free up resources, and make immigration information more readily available to DHS officials. It will also help reduce the agency’s backlog of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.

This program is part of the administration’s broader efforts to address the ongoing challenges at the border, which have recently been increasing in complexity and urgency. In recent weeks, officials at the border have been dealing with a big increase in the number of migrants arriving, especially during August and September. This surge has been so overwhelming that several border areas, like Tucson and San Diego, have had to release migrants directly onto the streets because they couldn’t accommodate them in detention facilities.

On Wednesday, a large group of mainly Venezuelan migrants arrived in Eagle Pass, Texas. They gathered under a bridge, hoping to go through the processing and be allowed into the United States.

Some people critical of the government’s policies believe that the current immigration crisis is a result of decisions made by the administration, such as narrowing the priorities for ICE enforcement. On the other hand, the administration has argued that Congress needs to provide more funding and make significant changes to fix what they see as a “broken” immigration system.
