UNACADEMY FIRES TEACHER KARAN SANGWAN WHO URGED STUDENT TO VOTE FOR EDUCATED LEADER

Unacademy fires teacher for asking students to elect educated leaders; faces social media backlash

A well-known education technology company, Unacademy, reportedly fired one of its teachers, Karan Sangwan, after he suggested in a video that people should vote for educated leaders in the upcoming elections. The teacher didn’t mention any specific politician, but some people thought he was referring to a particular leader, which led to controversy.

In the viral video, Sangwan advised viewers to vote for literate individuals who understand important matters, so that the country can progress smoothly. This caused a debate on social media, and even Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal joined in. He questioned whether it’s wrong to ask for educated leaders and stated that in today’s age of technology and knowledge, it’s important for elected representatives to be educated.

In simple words, the teacher said that when you vote, choose someone educated who can make good decisions for the country’s progress. The company Unacademy faced criticism for letting go of the teacher, but this incident brought up a discussion about the kind of leaders needed for India’s modern growth
